Pathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ Expands to Pensacola State College
Posted on October 19, 2018

The University of South Alabama today announced that Pensacola State College has become part of βPathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½,β a collaborative program between the University of South Alabama and select community and state colleges that creates a seamless transition to ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ for transfer students who earn their associateβs degree.
Pensacola State College is the fourth institution to join the program. The academic partnership will enable more PSC graduates to transfer to South and earn their bachelorβs degrees from ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½.
βThe University of South Alabama has historically enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with Pensacola State College, and Pathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ is a natural outgrowth of our relationship,β said Dr. Tony Waldrop, University of South Alabama president. βBoth institutions are strongly committed to helping students achieve their degrees in a timely manner and with a minimum of expense. Todayβs agreement is an important step in enhancing those goals.β
South currently enjoys similar partnerships with Coastal Alabama Community College, Bishop State Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
βPathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs agreement with Pensacola State College takes effect immediately and is geared toward students who are not admitted at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ as well as students who may simply prefer to begin their college education at PSC,β said Dr. Edward Meadows, Pensacola State College president.
PSC students may choose to have a copy of their ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ application and supporting documents forwarded to PSC for admission consideration. Students already attending PSC may also apply for Pathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½. A unique application will be created and available for PSC students to complete and submit.
PSC students who enter the Pathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ program will have unique benefits, such as:
- Guaranteed admission to ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ upon successful completion (cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 or higher) of the associateβs degree
- A ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ academic advisor assigned to them who will provide individual guidance on course selection and map out degree plans
- Special discounts through ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs Jaguar Productions
- Complimentary admission to South Alabama home athletic events
Persons wanting additional information on Pathway ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ at the University of South Alabama are urged to contact ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs Admissions Office at 251-460-7834 or Recruitment@southalabama.edu or Sheila Nichols, PSC executive director of marketing and communications, at 850-484-1428 or snichols@pensacolastate.edu.
